#12. No Commitment & Passion to Recruit
Finding the right person for the role is difficult and continues to be. There is no shortcut or magic formula to make it easy at the click of a button. Any compromise in recruitment activities bring bitter results or unmet expectations. It requires sincere commitment and perseverance. Commitment ensures that all obstacles are overcome.
Passion is an utterly abused word. But, here i really mean passion. Passion is something that you pursue with all you have and still enjoy the challenges and hardships. You will deploy all of yourself and your resources to attain success. We need Employers who are both committed and passionate in a genuine manner.
Yet many Employers prefer outstanding results without willing to put in the effort and resources to secure talent. The workforce and business landscape is increasingly getting complex. Candidates can spot an Employer who lacks commitment and passion and without much difficulty.
Employers who lack the will and determination to go for the best approach, commit resources, efforts and time will end up with mediocre results. The lack of 100% commitment will definitely impact recruitment.
Wrap Up of the Series
Through this series, I have covered all the major reasons why Employers cannot hire good candidates. They are worth the reflection and for those willing to make recruitment better, it could serve as a useful guide.
At times, it is often not one reason alone, but a combination of many. I firmly believe Employers need to overhaul the recruitment approach if they are to stay competitive and be successful.
The consequences of not hiring the best, will have a slow killing effect, especially in big corporations. For small firms and entrepreneurs, the impact will be immediate. Business will not be won by product or technology, but by people.
We can confidently say “The only differentiating factor that is to stay is People”
Good Luck in securing good candidates and let the year 2015 be the year!
